Sugar River Forest Preserve

Sugar River is a 529-acre tract containing a campground, two picnic shelterhouses, a playground and an extensive trail system. This scenic preserve offers a variety of habitats to hike, canoe and explore: woodlands, sand prairie, wetlands and river. Sugar River is the site of the District's primitive camping area for tent camping right along the river. The shower house facilities at this preserve enhance the camping experience. Accessible off Forest Preserve Road.
