The Forest Preserve District manages three 18 hole golf courses, Atwood Homestead, Ledges, and Macktown - which are open to the public from April until the end of October. Golfers in Winnebago County enjoy excellent conditions at all three courses. County golf premier cards which permit use of all three courses may be purchased at District Headquarters. Daily rates are also available and can be purchased at the course clubhouse. Individuals may also register private golf carts for annual use on courses at District Headquarters.

Macktown

This sporty course was built in the 1930s. The mature trees and established conditions make this a popular course for beginning golfers. With limited sand traps and one small pond, the course plays rapidly. Contact Course Manager at: (815) 624-7410.
